The official website of UK presenter Benedict Smith

Greetings!

It's funny how in life you can be wrapped up in one aim, so much so that you neglect all the dreams you've got in the queue. Well, after presenting, I've always wanted to build houses. Admittedly not just any old houses, but houses that form part of a community and impact an area in a positive way. Why would you put up any house if it wasn't of benefit?

To me Britain has one of the richest architectural histories in the world and I love the majority of these old buildings - they feel right. My issue is with the new builds - the majority of them don't feel right.

So this is my quest, to find out is it just me? Am I stuck in the past? Why, as someone who has nothing to do with the construction industry, do I feel so passionately about it? What can I learn? Join me as I start to discover the answers.
